Situated ocean front in Batubelig, behind a secluded lagoon, proudly sit the Bungadesa Villas. They boast styles and flavors from the gamut of the Indonesian archipelago. Rice-fields coyly play in the wind to the other side of the estate, and make this property one to be enjoyed by nature lovers and those drawn to the spirit of the island of Bali. The idyllic location of the estate, with its escapist feel from the busyness of downtown Kuta, Seminyak, and Oberoi, is ideally complimented by being only five minutes away from all the comforts of the luxury spas, five star restaurants, and thriving night-life that the area has to offer.

Villa Bunga Desa Accommodation

Comprised of four main structures, the Bungadesa Villas have been designed by their French owner to recreate the feeling of Indonesia that was to be had decades ago. At the same time all of the modern comforts and conveniences one could possibly seek are provided, including imported kitchen appliances, and an ever present but never imposing staff. All of the bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, safes, telephones with internet access, and complete entertainment centers with surround sound.

Each villa in the estate boasts open living areas, tactfully situated for optimum views of the stunning scenery, yet all of the villas are fully protected from the elements. Every detail is immaculately taken into account. Promoting a feel of antiquity, the estate makes tasteful use of many of the prolific natural resources Indonesia has to offer, including bamboo, alang-alang (thatch), serap (ironwood), terrazzo, terracotta, palimanan stone, and benkrai wood. The furniture and decorations are composed of museum quality art and artifacts from Indonesia.

A serap roof covers the main traditional structure, Villa Toraja, adding strong currents of style from Sulawesi. The first floor is wholly open, and the dramatic high ceiling is carried on the pillars of a traditional Javanese Jogglo. A cozy TV sitting area is nestled to one side, and the dining room table that seats 12 is situated as to overlook the lush tropical garden grounds and Indian Ocean. The partially exposed, fully equipped modern kitchen allows for flexibility in usage, whether guests would like to cook socially for themselves, or to be served by the hidden hands of the talented staff. A guest bathroom sits off to one side for convenience.

Divided from the living area by a water pond and stepping stones is the first floor master bedroom. It is fitted with a king size canopy bed, antique teak daybed, and its own private terrace. A walk-in wardrobe, and an ensuite open-air bathroom are added highlights. Bathing Balinese women overlook the luxury bathtub from a stunning limestone carving.

The upstairs master bedroom smells of rich dark wood, setting a romantic feel to mesh perfectly with the gorgeous sea view. Sunsets can be enjoyed by reclining in the fantastic king-sized Timor bed, over which hangs a rich hand-woven tapestry. An open terrace, ensuite bathroom, and separate study compose the additional living areas of this room. An intricately carved sofa bed is present to easily facilitate the conversion of the study into an additional sleeping area.

The first floor of the Villa Timor is dedicated to one large bedroom with its own private terrace overlooking the grounds. The terracotta floor adds richness to the room, complimented by the king-sized canopy bed. Shell-inlay doors lead to the open-air bathroom, complete with a small garden. Tactfully hidden under the teakwood TV stand is a mini-fridge. Indonesian puppets stand poised above.

On the second floor, the first room consists of an open living area with a Madura daybed and kitchenette. From this space, you can take in the sea air while resting in total privacy, or you can retreat into the bedroom. Two single canopy beds have been specially designed to easily convert into a single king-sized bed, for added versatility. An ensuite bathroom leaves nothing lacking.

Villa Irian, the guesthouse on the grounds, is set apart from the other villas to offer a complete retreat to privacy. This round building, topped with a high alang-alang roof, houses one bedroom and its own private ensuite open-air bathroom. The queen-sized bed is covered with brilliant batik linens, adding a spice of color to the room. A large day-bed is ideal for a mid-day siesta, or to put a child to rest. From the private terrace, you can overlook the flourishing rice fields and the blooming lotus garden set to the far corner of the grounds.

Set amidst the huge lotus pond is one of the three relaxation bales of the estate. A small bamboo bridge takes you from dry land to the center of the water garden, and from here you can take in three-hundred and sixty degrees of serenity. Balinese still patiently work the ricefields to the north, and the Prahu, boats of the local fishermen, glide by in the sea after the sun slowly rises to the south. This is an ideal location from which to enjoy a massage. If it takes your fancy, grab a fishing pole and catch one of the fish in the pond for a fresh meal.

A separate structure, Villa Lombok is modeled after a traditional Balinese rice barn. A brick-style kitchen with marble,terrazzo counters makes up the open first floor. The bathroom of this villa is behind the kitchen. A high staircase leads to a private open terrace, and to the bedroom beyond, all of the furnishings of which are created from bamboo. Two single canopy beds push together to form a single king. A bamboo ladder leads to a secret doorway, opening up to a second private terrace, specifically for the purposes of sea-view meditation.

Villa Canggu Sunset is situated in the quiet village of Canggu overlooking the rice paddies with views of Batu Karu mountain in the morning. It is also walking distance to the Canggu beach which is very popular to all surfers of the world. Canggu Sunset Villa is set on 1,000sqm of flat land. There are two separate self contained structures within the compound; each structure is with 3 bedrooms, total it has 6 bedrooms (4 double beds and 2 twins). Each bedroom is equipped with a private bathroom. The villa provides a luxury accommodation for 11-12 people.

Both buildings are furnished with traditional, hand-carved Balinese furniture and comprise of open Living Area with exposed alang-alang beams, with Satellite TV, Hi-fi and VCD player. The main building features a unique open viewing terrace, which enables guests to enjoy un-obstructive views of the rice fields, the ocean and the perfect Bali sunset in the comfort of their own surroundings.

The 2 master bedrooms are only connected to the main building by a private walkway, thus giving total privacy for guests, the downstairs bedroom has a traditional Balinese open-air bathroom which features a sunken bath where you can bathe by moonlight, surrounded by Lotus ponds. Villa Bukit Naga sleeps a total of twelve guests in six spacious suites. There is a one-bedroom guest villa, a huge two-bedroom guesthouse, and the three-bedroom main house. The Main House
The two ground floor bedrooms are identical in size, and both feature indoor as well as outdoor showers set in an ornamental garden. The Emerald villas is located in quiet village of Canggu. The 4 bedrooms villa of 620 m2 is composed of 3 different 2 storey buildings linked on the second floor by a large terrace from where guests can admire a magnificent sea view especially for the sunset. Surrounding on one side by the terrace, the 150 m2 overflow pool plus the 25 m2 whirlpool are 25 m long. The amazing shape, the size, the cladding with Indian stones, the overflow on the garden below and the big mango tree gives certainly the most inviting private swimming pool in Bali.

All bedrooms have king sized beds and fully dressed with the finest linen.

There is a bale positioned at the best to get the best view of the ocean and the mountain. At this bale there are three pool-chairs prepared to give best relaxing moments while viewing the ocean.

Large Living area is strategically positioned in the heart of the villa. The soft furnishings are wonderfully comfortable and are ideal places to sit, relax, read and watch TV.

The dining area is equipped with nice table and rattan chairs for 6 persons. There is a bar on its side. For a light breakfast, this bar is enough to serve full occupied guests of the villa. While, the kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils from best quality.

Villa Coraffan - complete description

Set around a five-by-17-meter infinity pool, each of bedroom has a spectacular view to the rice field terraces. The villa has an open-air living room with a sound system and equipped bar. Other common areas include a fitness room, a detached viewing platform ideal for morning meditation or yoga as well as late afternoon cocktails, and a detached dining area surrounded by balconies. Coraffan's air-conditioned TV room has a full bathroom so that it can be used as a fifth bedroom if needed. Coraffan also has a fully appointed kitchen with staff quarters and a parking area with a security post.

Villa Coraffan Neighborhood

Canggu is located in the northernmost part of the Kuta district. Coraffan's neighbourhood is accessible along Jalan Pantai Bolong, also known as Jalan Hotel Tugu for the distinguished hotel at the end of the road. Villa Coraffan is set back by 200 meters from this road, accessible through a private lane. The Villa is only 20 minutes away from Seminyak, though a new road from Canggu Tua to Batu Beliq will cut the time to Seminyak's Petitengget area, (where the Oberoi Hotel is), in half.

The landscape of Canggu is dominated by gently rolling hills in varying shades of green, depending on the stage of the rice harvest, and closer to the ocean, pastures dotted with grazing cattle. Under moonlight, the landscape is breathtaking as the midnight blue and the softly lit green of the terraced rice fields create a dreamlike vista.

Most of residents of Canggu earn their living either from farming or fishing, and the government has designated large parcels of the area as green zones to avoid the traffic snarls and other conflicts between residential and commercial development experienced in high-density tourist areas of the island. The two main beaches in the area are Pantai Batu Bolong and Pantai Batu Mejan, commonly known as Echo Beach.

The Echo is very popular among more experienced surfers, while Batu Bolong is more swimmer-friendly, (as long as you don not go in very far). Both beaches are approximately one kilometer away from Coraffan. Guests often enjoy watching Echo Beach spectacular sunsets over a cold beer or a glass of wine at The Beach House restaurant. With the newly opened Canggu International Club, the first of its kind in Bali, and a few international schools in the neighbourhood, Canggu is becoming the preferred location for those seeking sophistication, privacy and peace.

The Living Room
The open-air living room at the Coraffan lets guests stretch out in fan-cooled shade without losing any connection to the pool, the garden or magnificent scenery of the village beyond. The Dining Room
The dining room, which can be as open to the elements as you wish, gives guests a dignified setting to complement culinary delights of our chef. Bedroom 2

Bedroom 3

Villa Artis - complete description

Villa Artis is located in the Village of Umalas, close from Seminyak facilities, but still offering a panoramic view on the terrace rice fields. The size of the land is 4300 m2; all building parts and every bedroom is overlooking the garden and the view. The swimming pool is fifteen meters long, and the garden is arranged with three different resting area, offering a sample of the various architecture of the Archipelago. The villa is combining modern facilities, very high power electricity (more than 25 KW) and generator supply, strong water pressure in each bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, ADSL Wi-FI internet in each building and by the pool, with classical finest antique Indonesian style. In each bedroom is at least one double size spring bed.

Villa Artis Accommodation

The compound is composed of four separate buildings:
One Staff area (140 m2) located at the entrance in an original Javanese Joglo, with huge kitchen, laundry and maintenance. The extra large kitchen can be used for catering or dinner party.

The Main House (around 400 m2) In this house is located a spacious living area, and the dining terrace, overlooking the rice fields, with an extra kitchen and a bar. The floor is made of wood and the walls covered by tinted cement and terrazzo.

The three bedrooms are air conditioned and decorated in its own style. The master bedroom located upstairs is around 60 m2. The two bathrooms have an open-air garden, and one has a Jacuzzi.

The Guest Bungalow (around 80 m2) Completely independent from the main house, with its large bedroom and lounge, and its open-air bathroom, it offers a perfect hide away for a couple or one family, with its extra bed downstairs, which can accommodate a child, as well as being accommodated like a sofa. The bathroom has its own garden and terrazzo bathtub.

The Antique Aceh House (100 m2) In this building overlooking the rice fields and the pool is located a huge suite upstairs, with a lounge and unsuited child room, all with an amazing view. Downstairs is located a bathroom dedicated to the user, and an amazing resting place on a wooden deck, with swings, lazy chairs and sofa. Once a gain a completely different space, independent form the rest of the house, which can accommodate a whole family.

Villa Artis Garden

(4300 m2) The very large garden is nesting different resting area, including a Beautiful Balinese Bale Gede, a Javanese Bale by the swimming pool, trampoline in the shade for children, and swings. Huge trees and flowers, large lotus pound.

Villa Artis Staff

Our staff (9 persons full time) is very efficient and provides a full service, seven days, including shopping meal preparation and service, until 10 PM, and laundry for our guest with no extra charge. Most of the women speaks English and understands French. They know any shopping place. The cooking is fine, including French, Thai, Japanese and Italian specialities. We also provide security at night. Dry clean is available, with an extra charge.

Larger dinner parties can be arranged on request, as well as baby-sitting with an extra charge.

Villa Gajah Putih - complete description

Villa Gajah Putih is located in Canggu, just a twenty-minute drive from the greater Kuta/Seminyak area where the prime dining, shopping, and nightlife in Bali are located. Because of its slightly out of town setting, it has the double attraction of being relatively close to everything one might need, while being far enough away to retain a peaceful rural feel. The surrounding village is traditional Balinese, and retains large expanses of pictorial rice fields. This five-bedroom villa and its immense property has the spectacular attribute of being set directly on the beach, and the ocean view enhances the enticing attributes of this prime estate.

Villa Gajah Putih Interior

The villa consists of one main two-storey building set on a gorgeous sprawling property, the gardens of which have been maturing for over a decade. To the left of the building is an immense vegetable garden, large yard, and tennis court. Between the main structure and the beach is a swimming pool and indoor sauna set within a manicured lawn strewn with coconut palms and two relaxation bales. The gated villa entrance has ample parking and a security post to guard interests whilst ensuring safety of the guests.

Upon entering the grounds one is led down a wooden walkway past a large limestone alligator carving and elaborate water ponds. These water gardens are filled with colourful fish and flowers, and completely surround the main building. The spacious common living areas of the villa are floored in marble, and the actual structure is composed of white stucco ceilings framed by huge ironwood beams supported by matching columns, making the areas completely open-air.

The first area is the dining room, which boasts a massive teak table that seats twelve and looks out over the blooming gardens to the ocean. The fully equipped kitchen is set off to the side of the dining room and can be reached by way of a small bridge.

Villa Gajah Putih Living Area

The first floor living room features wooden tables, rattan armchairs and couches situated so as to create two sitting areas. Artwork collected from around the Indonesian archipelago abounds, enhancing the exotic atmosphere and creating a rich ambience ideal for thoughtful repose. The air is permeated with the sounds of crashing waves and the melodious chirping of tropical birds, which inhabit the flourishing tropical gardens.

Villa Gajah Putih Bedrooms

Each of the five bedrooms consists of an enclosed air-conditioned room with its own ensuite bathroom. The floors and ceilings are made of ironwood, and each of the bedrooms have at least one glass wall overlooking the ocean-side gardens of the estate. All of the ensuite bathrooms are floored and walled with caramel marble, and have screened-windows overlooking the front gardens.

Set off to the right of the living room when walking straight from the dining area is the first bedroom. The entrance to this bedroom is a traditional Balinese variegated carved doorway, which opens up to reveal two queen sized wooden canopy beds with blue cotton bedcovers from India. Delicate white mosquito nets subtly accented by white flower patterns are draped from the canopies, and reading lights are tactfully attached to the supports for convenience. The beds are separated by a blue Ikat wall hanging and a wooden bedside table upon which rests a porcelain lamp from Hong Kong. The room is flanked on one side by glass, which looks out over the living room and pool table when the white draperies are opened. A rich red Oriental carpet delightfully compliments the ironwood floors. The rest of the furniture consists of a modest wood standing wardrobe and a small writing table with matching chairs.

Within the spacious marble bathroom, a large mask of a meditative face with closed eyes hangs on the wall behind the double showers, mounted on square marble pillars. A wooden towel rack and copper elephant stand sit by the stairs leading into the sunken marble tub which can be filled for a luxurious bath.

On both sides of the doorway to the second bedroom are two majestic red lion-like sculptures. Two wooden queen sized beds with red bedcovers sit on either side of a small table and lamp, behind which is a wall of windows overlooking the garden. The front windows look out to a lily pond filled with fish and two fountains in the form of carved stone tortoises, spouting water from their mouths. Bamboo blinds can be drawn down in the bedroom for privacy. The d?cor in this room consists of a plain wooden wardrobe, a desk, and matching chairs, and is highlighted by a red and blue Oriental carpet, and two original antique Chinese paintings to either side of the ironwood door leading to the large robe and ensuite bathroom.

An imported pool table sits off to the side of the living room near the ironwood staircase that leads to the second storey. The stairs are divided by a small landing, over which an arched wood doorframe tactfully splits the sunlight. Balinese paintings depicting village life adorn the walls, and a swinging ironwood gate opens up to second floor. The entire second storey is floored in ironwood, and a timber-lined cathedral style alang-alang ceiling opens up the space.

To the immediate left of the staircase, one walks past another large painting and through a set of picturesque carved doors into the first master bedroom. This sublime room is walled on three sides by sliding glass windows with white linen drapes that can be drawn for privacy. An Ikat weaving hangs on the fourth wall between the entrance and the bathroom doorway. The entire bedroom is surrounded by a balcony, which overlooks the front and back gardens, and the vegetable garden to the side. The tremendous bed sits in the middle of the room with a view of the ocean, and boasts a finely dyed cotton red and white bedcover made in India in karma sutra style. Imported Oriental carpets encircle the bed, and an elaborate Chinese style sofa from Java sits off to the side. The ensuite bathroom is another symphony of marble and indulgence.

The forth bedroom overlooks the balcony to one side and offers a sea view to the other. The most notable decoration in this room is the complex mirrored wall hanging from India. As in the other bedrooms, a table and matching sitting chairs, and a standing wardrobe make up the rest of the furniture.

The second master bedroom is boasts sliding glass doors overlooking the ocean open up to expose the elegantly carved canopy bed. The white bedcover is of handmade Indian lace, matched by the elegant mosquito net, hand painted in India. The property is built on the side of a hill; the living area and bedrooms are all on the same level with steps leading down into the garden. Our staffs have been instructed to purchase only imported meats for our guests. Should you wish to eat local produce, please notify the Chef. Each day the friendly Balinese staff will cook a breakfast of fresh fruit, eggs, toast and coffee. Breakfast is prepared in the fully equipped kitchen found in each villa.

We advise when choosing a full set menu for your Luncheon or Dinner, only one selection can be made, for your group, from each of the Courses to a maximum of five courses. Unfortunately it is not possible to provide different selections for each course for each person.

The fully air-conditioned sleeping quarters contains three double bedrooms and a study. On the ground floor, the Master Bedroom has French windows opening onto the garden, a queen size four poster bed and an ensuite garden bathroom with bathtub. The Study Room which connects with the master bedroom doubles up as an indoor lounge suitable for children to watch TV or DVDs and can be used as an additional sleeping area for young children up to ten years old. Villa Bayuh Sabbha, meaning House of Breezes, is an exclusive private estate, a 5-bedroom peaceful retreat, comprised of nine separate buildings, with sleeping accommodation for up to fifteen persons. Bukit is the Indonesian word for hill and the panorama from this elevation extends all the way up the west coast past Jimbaran, the airport, Kuta and Canggu, and inland to Bedugul. On a clear day, the awesome vista takes in all of the volcanoes from Mt Agung in the east, to Mt Bromo in Java. It is in this area that a number of the more affluent members of the surfing fraternity have chosen to build their homes, ensuring that early each morning a quick glance from the bedroom window will ascertain the best waves and the destination of the day. This beautiful stretch of coast boasts some of the most idyllic beaches in Bali, hidden white sandy coves that are great for both surfers and non-surfers alike.

The property was designed by acclaimed architect Glenn Parker, and the gardens created by the famous landscape architect Made Wijaya. Complemented by flat green lawns, courtyards, terraces and a serene water garden, and lovingly furnished by its Jakarta-based owners, the villa is composed of a series of pavilions, including the main residence, two guest pavilions, dining pavilion, family pavilion, Wantilan Lounge and Bale Bundar, most of which have adjoining verandahs or terraces. This style is based on the concept of the traditional Balinese family compound with a separate building or 'bale' for each function, and a licence to amend the purpose of each in accordance with the comforts of modern living. The estate also boasts a fitness centre, a children’s playground, two swimming pools and a large tennis court.

The formal Balinese architecture makes use of local materials, such as white Palimanan stone, teak wood and limestone, together with alang alang grass for the thatched roofs. The pavilions surrounding the main residence are modelled on the conventional Balinese 'Wantilan' (village meeting place), but the self-contained guest area, comprising the Bale Bundar and two rotunda gazebo bedrooms with thatched conical roofs, has an African influence.

Villa Bayuh Sabbha Accommodation

The layout of the property utilises and divides space, maximising the cliff top frontage. A group of fifteen people could stay at the villa and still lose each other in its depths. The staff quarters, laundry, and the fully equipped kitchen are located at the back, leaving every room to enjoy the wonderful ocean view. Approached via a 600-metre cobbled pathway, visitors are greeted by a pair of antique doors set within a traditional Balinese gateway constructed of limestone and Bengkirai (Ironwood). Stepping stones wend across a beautiful water court; a lotus pond ablaze with pink and white blossoms. Tiny islands support sweet-scented frangipani trees punctuated by the distinctive pattern of lily pads; while gentle ripples originate from a soothing fountain beside clusters of noble bulrushes.

The Family Room
The Family Room is an open pavilion featuring wooden pillars with Palimanan stone plinths, a marble floor and a wrap around terrace. A wide set of steps flanked by a pair of stone lanterns, leads down to an 18-metre horizon pool, which is fronted by a patio area with sunloungers and umbrellas. Additional shade is provided by two twisting frangipani trees; during the day the gnarled trees cast cool shadows, at night they appear to dance intimately on the shimmering water of the pool.

The Master Suite
A teak staircase leads up to the luxurious master suite. The high-ceilinged, air-conditioned bedroom adheres to the attractive theme of warm timber floors blended with fresh cream walls, hand-carved teak furniture including a large TV cabinet, and billowing white drapes canopying the four-poster king size bed. A precious feature is the large wrap-around wooden balcony accessed by glass doors in the coast-facing wall of the room. The rhythmic crashing of the waves is both thrilling and soothing. The en-suite bathroom is linked by a very spacious dressing room complete with fitted wardrobes and enhanced by an abundance of natural light. The Kunyit Room
Set back from the cliff, but still offering splendid views, is the main building. The Kunyit (turmeric) Room is one of two air-conditioned bedrooms situated on the ground floor. It features a romantic four-poster bed, and sliding glass doors on the ocean side. The garden bathroom on the southern side boasts a bathtub, together with an open-air shower sheltered by a thatched roof.

The Asam Jawa Room
The Asam Jawa (tamarind) Room is furnished with twin beds and includes an en-suite bathroom. Local artifacts have been fondly placed in curved alcoves to show them off to their best advantage, and an intricately carved antique wooden door mantel is positioned against the wall. The bedroom is equipped with satellite TV and also offer the option of a ceiling fan as an alternative to the air conditioning.

The Guest Room
Two stand-alone, air-conditioned guest rooms flank the Bale Bundar. The circular theme is continued with conical roofs, and glass doors all along the 120 degree ocean facing curve of each building. Each guest pavilion, with its timber floor and en-suite bathroom, has its own distinct character created by independent furnishing styles. Primitive artworks adorn the walls, rich drapes frame the windows; rustic furniture enhances that African bungalow ambience. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, bigger than they appear from the outside, each featuring a dressing room, a marble hand-basin on a funky washstand, and an en-suite garden bathroom. The north guest pavilion offers a secret view of Dreamland beach from the circular canopied bathtub, while complete privacy is maintained by the exterior walls. Each bedroom is equipped with a satellite TV and DVD player.

The Wantilan Lounge
Perched on the edge of the cliff is the Wantilan lounge, another open pavilion for resting, chilling out with a book perhaps, and enjoying the tranquillity. Measuring eight by eight metres, this breezy square pavilion has a raised wooden floor and is scattered with cushions. A state of the art Bose sound sytem has been installed to enhance further enjoyment of the space.

The Study Suite
On one side of the Main Building, the balcony becomes a walkway, which leads to an elegant study room equipped with a desk, IDD telephone, internet access, quality surround sound system, sideboard and comfortable sofas and chairs. Behind a screen is a mini-bar, making this room also suitable for entertaining a small group of friends.

The TV Room
The Kupu Kupu (butterfly) Room, also located on teh ground floor of the main building. It is a delightful air conditioned TV room furnished with yet more comfortable sofas, shelving, lamps and a desk. There is an en-suite washroom with toilet and an open air shower under a thatched roof in a private pebbled garden. French windows at the front of the Kupu Kupu Room open on to a lawn.

The Gazebo
A little way across the lush manicured lawn, resting on the southern end of the cliff-top is the Bale Sunset. From this small, circular, relaxation pavilion, with its richly grained coconut wood pillars, timber floor and built-in table, guests can enjoy not only the sunset, but also an infinity view. From here, it is possible to see the nearby Uluwatu cliffs and watch the surfers riding some of the biggest breaks on the island as a fleet of tiny jukung fishing boats return after a day's work.

The Bale Bundar
The self-contained guest area, on the northerly side of the property, is dominated by the Bale Bundar, which literally means circular pavilion. Raised above ground level, it has a thatched conical roof supported by magnificent cylindrical pillars. The base of the structure, together with the pillars is pieced together with random shapes of white limestone from the Bukit, forming a tightly packed honeycomb. Customarily, this feature beside a beach would have been created from white sea-coral, but the local limestone is an environmentally acceptable substitute that is still in keeping with the original style. This exquisite open-air living area is furnished with a large day bed and rests beside a lens shaped infinity swimming pool that appears to flow over the edge of the cliff. A flat terrace in front of the pool is dotted with sunloungers and sheltered by a tumbling hedge of cerise bougainvillea. Pendulous ceiling fans enhance the cool breezes that waft through the pavilion, and guests are lulled by the constant sound of the rolling waves on the beach below. A kitchen and bathroom are situated at the back of the building.

Immediately adjacent to the family room is the impressive dining room. This self-contained building offers a choice of two very different dining experiences. The interior is furnished with a majestic dining table and chairs, providing a somewhat formal, air-conditioned dining facility for up to twelve persons. The glorious view is preserved by the tall french windows that can, of course, be opened to allow the cool breezes to permeate. These glass doors lead out onto a raised wooden deck furnished with two smaller tables for the purpose of more casual, alfresco dining. Every need has been considered and another toilet is situated at the back of the building.

The great Villa Arika is one of the best villas located right in front of the south coast of Bali. It is located in the peaceful village of Pererenan, about 9 km north-west of the restaurant/nightlife districts of Legian and Seminyak and approximately 45 minutes from Bali International Airport. The best Bali Nirvana Golf Course at Tanah Lot is just a 15 minute drive towards the west.

Villa Arika sits just back of the dunes on one of Bali's best west-coast surfing beaches. Finishing its construction in April of 2002, through its strategic position, Arika offers views of the Bukit peninsula to the south, to the north lie palms, rice terraces and a series of headlands, the nearest of them surmounted by a charming temple. On morning with clear sky, from the master bedroom, you have a view of Mount Agung Bali, the biggest and most sacred volcano of the island.

Villa Arika Accommodation

This four-bedroomd property is situated on 1.2 hectares on the beach and has amazing direction to the sunset-view. There are two sleeping pavilions, each has an ocean view, air conditioning, ensuite bathroom with large bathtub and an outdoor shower in the very private garden and are beautifully finished with wooden floors and king sized beds. All of the bedrooms have a large outdoor patio/veranda with a large cushioned day bed. The villa has been built so that there are ocean views from every room in the house. All indoor rooms have air conditioning and all bedrooms have bathrooms ensuite.

Villa Arika is decorated in an eclectic fashion with a very tasteful mix of classic wood and marble pieces along with more contemporary rattan furniture. The cushions and silk pillows are made of fabrics from all over Asia and are in rich hues of purple and gold. The artwork has been collected by the owner the past 25 years and is from some of Indonesia most famous artists.

Villa Arika Ground

After passing the Balinese style entrance gate, you finds yourself entering an extraordinary courtyard with lush tropical trees, flowers and plants and a trickling array of fountains. Then, as you walk along the path to the 10 meter high outdoor living area, you pass by 4 ancient stone Balinese statues. Stone steps takes you across the fish pond and you enter the outdoor living area.

Upon entering you are immediately struck by the amazing views of the ocean that are just past the swimming pool and gardens. The blue tiled swimming pool and over 1 hectare of breathtaking tropical gardens surround you in this tropical paradise. The swimming pool has an invisible edge, deep blue tiles and is surrounded by gardens. The attached Bali has plush cushions to sit and enjoy the sunset and gardens.

Sukhavati Retreat Location

Sukhavati Retreat is located in the small village of Bebengan (north-west part of Canggu area) and lies on a multi-level topography of land. More than a hectare in size, the property is bordered by tropical jungle and the Penet river. Beautiful Mt. Batukaru is clearly visible from the top level of the retreat.

Sukhavati Retreat Accommodation

Sukhavati Retreat is divided into two levels. The area of the upper level is from the entrance until the parking spot. There are some structures on this level: The Amitabha Pavilion with private plunge pool, Spa Pavillion, Welcome Lounge and the Office. There is also another room with Jacuzzi.

Entering the Balinese gate, we will be fully impressed by the hundreds stairs down to the lower level. It is like the great Besakih mother temple of Bali. The lower level consists of some other self standing structures: the Samanta Bhadra Pavillion, Manjushri Pavillion, Vajhravani Pavillion, Whitetara Pavillion, Maitreya Pavillion, Living and Dining area facing the Yeh Penet River, Yoga and Meditation Pavillion, fully equipped kitchen and the swimming pool.

There are total of six pavillion (each with one luxury bed room with private en-suite). All compound of the retreat could accommodate 12 people. Two extra beds are available upon request.

The Living and Dining Pavillion
This self standing structure is located on the lowest part of the lower level. From the pool, we need to walk down some more stairs to reach the floor of the Living area. This Entertainment Pavillion is a luxurious furnished communal lounging area equipped with large flat-screen TV, DVD / CD stereo system, and a library equipped with 200-plus DVD, books, magazines and games. Passing through some more steps up, we will arrive at the Dining area. The large dining table comfortably serves 14 seats. This is a real nice place to have a great dine.

Sukhavati Retreat Kitchen
The kitchen is located right on the right side of the main pool and adjacent to the dining area. It is fully equipped with modern cooking utensils. An hotel and restaurant standard with an easy to follow system of set menus and buffets, and set meal times. Complimentary sunrise breakfast is included with nightly rate (additional breakfast menu items available at extra charge). Vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets are fully catered for. Alcohol is not stocked on premises but transport to local liquor store available upon request.

Sukhavati Retreat Yoga and Meditation Pavilion
The retreat purpose-built open-air pavilion is equipped with yoga mats, straps and other exercise equipment. Also contains a sound system so that students may listen to ambient music during classes. In case yoga is not an interested activity, a tennis table can be set up quickly to entertain you.
